Can't get enough of

Just one of those things.
Very excited to catch Lykke Li next month, even if her sadness is infectious.

Piano keys pencil case

Three more to make!
I hope the kids'll like them.

Farewell/Goodbye

Working on a little something to give the kids, before I leave the workplace for good.

First pouch ever made, not perfect yet.
Have to hone pouch making skills.

& Lights is just the most adorable thing ever (when she's not grumpy)!

I took out a large 1mX1m plastic bag and she went ape over it.
She's in her very own Disney Land.

Got another order for a pair of "I'll Eat You Up!"s.

It's been a long while since I've done one of these (since my Perth days)!
Forgot how fun they are to do :)

Farewell Cynics

I do my head in worst.
I had a good set bar. Even though I had flightily reduced the margin over the years (to be accepted by turkeys), I have raised it up again.
This time, I have set it higher than what I had innately inherited.

Progress, advancement, growth.

No more placing myself in, what I imagine to be, their head projections.
Of phantoms, of ghosts of yesteryears.

I've cleared the maze, I'm out of the woods.

Demon Days

(A gift of my Index Top wrapped up in exercise booklet papers and folded into an origami envelope)

Listening to sad music and taking yourself too seriously is a combination for disaster.
I got so many demons on my back I need to throw off.

Yet, I'm just in love with this song << please click!

Lesson #1 for my unborn child

Listen to your gut. You know that tingle in the air where you feel as if something enchanting or terrible is going to happen? Chances are, that moment will come and you aren't wrong about that hunch. Do not listen to your dim-witted logic. Do not let that "logic" lead you astray!

I'm am trying to stay positive in all this weariness. Yet, it's all chipper cause I've gotten a direction, and it's all pointing up.

A serie of oddity had occurred and I'm taking things as they come.

Several things I have pulled in from behind to be my focus. I have about given everything else a chance, and everything else had been no cure to my languor. (This only goes to prove its good value and worth.)

What's it to you I do not know. But for me, this is it.
Excuse me for my ambiguousness, for I do wish to conceal.

I guess, I am already on that (natural) path to being a happy, as my mom puts it, 太太.
And what's best about it is, it's all going to something that lasts.

Amaranthine and dear

I've been wishing for a while now, that I could take Lights all about town with me. You know, like take her out for a walk around the block, run groceries together, pretend she's a dog, except for the sure fact that she's a cat. After all, she already plays fetch with us (not counting the part where she fails to return the chew toy) but, come on, many dogs don't fulfill that part of the deal either.. Besides, people do really walk their cats.

So, Jian and I decided, we shall indeed go for a picnic and bring our little meow-meow with us! Here's us taking the bus down to our local park & if you squint really hard, you can see Lights peering up from behind the netting.

On the bus, we imagined Lights to frollick about the tall grass, climb up the low trees, swipe at terrapins in the pond, just being happy and gay and cute.

But all did not go as we planned.

There's no other way to put it but this: Lights is a lousy, scaredy, fraidy cat.

Everything in the park scared her. The tall grass. The trees. The terrapins in the pond. The sun, the breeze, the everything. She just cowered in her red carrier, refusing to come out.

We carried her in our arms, even brought her out to sit on the grass with us.
She just does not like nature.

At this point, I'm thinking, Oh! We've spoilt her good! All that lounging about in our sofas and beddings we've let her!

We truly thought she'd be having lots of fun!
Instead, she was sulking at every aspect of our garden trip.

(This is a quick water colouring I made of her at the park, wishing she'd be playing hide-and-seek with us in the grass)

Yet, this was about all the excitement we got out of her.

Her standing tall, trying to figure out where we have sneaked her carrier.

We headed back after less than an hour.

Though, I have to say, it really was a rather fruitful trip. I understood my kitty more, and realised what kind of a feline my little Lights is.

She's infinitely, a princess. Albeit deceiving, with the wild street coat and kinked tail, she's a house cat through and through.

After giving her a shower, I dug up my old gold bangles which I hardly ever wear, took off her old purple suede collar with the red bell, and popped them over her head.

Princess.
That's all I can say.

Water Girl

Tried something new today

Think I might play with water colours more.
There's a freedom and easiness to it, which I quite enjoy.

Life is good

Yesterday was quite a day of goals and missions.

Action Plan:

1. Paint little triangles on my nails

2. Hand-paint and sew a loose fitted top with my index as prints

3. Head out to St. James Powerhouse for Warpaint's gig!

Jem: "Wah lao, leading the life lah you! Whole day don't need to go to work, stay at home make some art, then at night come out for rock concert!"

Warpaint was awesome.
Though it was a rather short gig, they played all my favourite songs:
Undertow, Baby, Elephant, Billie Holiday and Beetles.
A good night!

More truths-s

You need a concept of understanding (and);
Light to see.
